Responsibilities

Summary:

The Production Lead position oversees and manages the daily operations of the seafood processing line, including coordinating and assigning tasks to the processing team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining productivity levels.

Essential Functions:

  • Receives and answers questions from workers pertaining to production processes or equipment operation.
  • Monitors and enforce quality control standards to ensure that seafood products meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
  • Monitors and expedites flow of materials within production area and makes adjustments when necessary.
  • Maintains effective communication channels with other departments including maintenance to ensure smooth coordination and timely resolution of any operational issues.
  • Tends or operates machines or equipment as needed or performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Provides training and guidance to the processing team on proper seafood handling techniques, safety procedures, and quality control measures.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous learning and development among the team members.
  • Communicates with Managers of any problems or concerns
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Implements and enforces safety protocols to minimize workplace hazards and promote a safe working environment.
  • Responds to grievances accordingly and works with manager and human resources to discuss and eliminate problems.
  • Identifies opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancement within the seafood processing operations
  • Implements strategies to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
  • Maintains accurate records of production activities, quality control measures, and any incidents or deviations.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

Travel/On-Call Requirements: not required for this position

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of production experience is required.
  • HS Diploma or GED

 

Preferred Education & Experiences:

  • Food Manufacturing or Food Production experience
  • Supervision or other experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledges

 

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  

Skills

  • Ability to count by multiples 2s and 3s to place correct number of items into packages.

Abilities

  • Ability to interpret simple written instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with coworkers.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, humid and cold conditions, and moving mechanical parts

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.

 

Work Ability Requirements:

Employees regularly bend or lean at waist level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or grasp packages and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch

The employee lifts and carries  objects up to 5 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs occasionally

Pay Range

USD $28.28 - USD $33.49 /Hr.
