Responsibilities

ummary:

 

The Employee Services Associate provides support to employees transiting through Dutch Harbor to our Alaska shore plants. This position, which is based in Dutch Harbor, will be required to perform varied tasks throughout the day and maintain a flexible schedule. The Employee Services Associate will also support the Warehouse and Logistics team and warehouse operations. This position reports to the Manager, People Operations in Dutch Harbor.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Represents Trident’s Dutch Harbor People Operations team in meeting employees or contractors transiting through Dutch Harbor and providing pick up, drop off, and other needed ground transportation service. 
  • Ensures appropriate overnight lodging is secured for employees and contractors as needed and check-in is successful.
  • Aids employees and contractors with logistic issues including facilitating rebooking of flights and transportation back and forth to airport as needed.
  • Provides or facilitates meals, incidentals, and other assistance to employees and contractors while transiting Dutch Harbor.
  • Communicates effectively by phone, text/app, and email in fast-paced environment with team to ensure decisions and directions are based on up-to-date information.
  • Provides friendly, helpful communication and assistance and treats all employees, contractors, and visitors with respect.  
  • Provides general administrative support, including basic invoice coding, preparing travel manifests and processing expenses.
  • Maintains good relationships with vendors and community partners.
  • Loads and Unloads containers with vessel materials ensuring proper storage in designated areas, using shrink wrap or appropriate warehouse equipment.
  • Utilizes warehouse management equipment including scanners and computer programs to ensure accurate inventory control and shipping documents. 
  • Cleans and organizes warehouse and other areas to meet department standards.
  • Ensures Inventory is well maintained, and stocked, sorted and organized according to protocol.
  • Various duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions 
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • One year experience in applications of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word. 
  • A minimum of one year experience in warehouse, logistics or a related position.
  • Ability to be flexible on schedule; nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Travel, logistics or related experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification or training desirable must be able to obtain Trident Forklift Certification within one month of start.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.

Special Training/Skills:

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move 10 to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.

 

Mental Activities:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, write and understand English, and to use customer service skills. The employee is frequently required to use interpersonal and teamwork skills. The employee is occasionally required to use creativity, independent judgment, discretion, and problem analysis.
